Within Technology Services, our five dynamic work units – Data, Architecture & Integration, Cyber Resilience, Digital Delivery & Innovation, Technology Platforms, and Operations & Services – work collaboratively to deliver high‑impact solutions across the University.
We’re now seeking a strategic and innovative Software & Integration Development Principal to shape the technical direction of custom development and system integration across the University’s core business domains.
This senior role reports to the Executive Director, Data, Architecture & Integration, and leads a team of software and integration developers to enable seamless, scalable, and secure digital services that power the University’s learning, teaching, research, and student experience.
You will make an impact by:
Leading custom software and integration strategy across key platforms including TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics, Blackboard, and Teams
Setting university‑wide coding and development standards to ensure secure, scalable, and sustainable software delivery
Overseeing integration architecture and ensuring seamless connectivity between enterprise systems
Building and mentoring high‑performing development teams across a broad and complex technology ecosystem
Driving adoption of emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices across software and integration
Leading the Software & Integration Development Community of Practice to foster innovation and continuous improvement
What you will bring
You’re a passionate and technically adept leader who thrives on solving complex problems, building talented teams, and delivering innovative software solutions that enable real impact. You’re driven by collaboration, purpose, and continuous improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will also need:
A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar, with ideally 10+ years of development experience and 5+ years in a leadership role
Deep knowledge of modern software development, integration platforms, and architectural best practices
Proven success delivering enterprise‑grade systems in higher education or similarly complex environments
Experience managing large‑scale development teams and fostering high performance, inclusion, and innovation
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to align technical delivery with strategic goals

Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Relocation assistance is available, making it easier to join our regional communities
