With a proud history, strong community roots, and a commitment to excellence across both elite and grassroots pathways, Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association (PLHBA) is seeking an experienced and values-driven Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader with strong governance and operational capability, commercial acumen, and a passion for community sport.

About the role The CEO is responsible for leading the Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association in delivering its mission and vision by defining strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, and building a strong, inclusive and high-performing culture.

Reporting directly to the PLHBA Board, this senior leadership role has a strong focus on association governance, operational systems, team leadership, financial management, strategy implementation, commercial viability, fundraising and growth, brand development and marketing, and administration of State Basketball League programs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership of the Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association, working closely with the Board to deliver the Associationโ€™s strategic plan and long-term sustainability.

Lead governance, compliance and risk management, ensuring alignment with PLHBA policies, constitution and Basketball WA / Basketball Australia requirements.

Oversee delivery of key basketball programs and events including NBL1, WABL and community participation initiatives, ensuring quality, consistency and commercial viability.

Drive financial performance through strong budgeting, forecasting and reporting, while growing revenue via grants, sponsorships and strategic partnerships.

Lead marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement to strengthen the Hawks brand, build community connection and support participation growth.

Lead, mentor and develop staff and volunteers, fostering a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven culture.

The ideal candidate is an experienced senior leader with a strong background in sport, community organisations, or membership-based operations. You are confident managing governance processes, leading teams, building commercial sustainability, and developing strong partnerships across stakeholders.
