The Organisation This globally recognised organisation delivers high-quality medical products to healthcare providers, distributors and patients across Australia. Operating within a complex, regulated environment, the Australian business forms a key part of the company’s broader international network, working closely with global leadership across the UK, Europe and North America.

Following an unexpected leadership disruption, the organisation is seeking an experienced Interim General Manager to stabilise the Australian operation, restore confidence, and ensure strong governance and continuity while a permanent leader is recruited.

The Position Reporting to a UK based GM and collaborating closely with Global Compliance, Legal, HR and Commercial leaders, the Interim General Manager is responsible for rapidly assessing, stabilising and governing the Australian business.

Your key focus is restoring operational continuity, mitigating legal, financial and compliance risks, and ensuring full transparency with ongoing internal and external audits. You will conduct a deep situational analysis, implement urgent corrective actions, and re‑establish a high‑trust environment for employees, customers and partners.

Key Priorities

Immediate stabilisation of the business following organisational disruption

In-depth situational assessment including audit findings, root cause analysis and internal control gaps

Clear, structured reporting to global stakeholders

Strict adherence to governance, cashflow management, compliance and reporting obligationsSupporting ongoing audits and ensuring all recommendations are acted upon promptly

Reassuring employees, retaining critical roles and restoring team cohesion

Leading Sales, Marketing, eCommerce and cross‑functional teams to maintain business continuity

Ensuring ongoing customer confidence and continuity of service

Supporting transparent communication with regulators and key partners

Ensuring compliance with Australian requirements including TGA, WHS and the Privacy Act 1988

This role is highly hands‑on, requiring presence, leadership maturity, and the ability to make informed decisions quickly and confidently.

The Person You are an experienced interim senior commercial leader who has successfully stabilised organisations through periods of disruption, transition or change. Commercially astute and operationally strong, you bring gravitas, credibility and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders across a matrixed global business.

Qualifications

Demonstrated success in interim or crisis‑stabilisation assignments

Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior commercial leadership roles (GM, Country Manager, Commercial Lead) across sales and product management

Experience working within a highly regulated environment—ideally medical devices, healthcare or similar

Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, compliance and audit processes

Proven capability managing budgets, P&L, forecasting and financial controls

Experience leading cross‑functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Product and Operations

Exceptional communication skills, able to bring clarity, direction and calm under pressure

High resilience, strong integrity, and the ability to act decisively

A people‑centred leadership style that builds trust, stabilises teams and reinforces organisational culture
