Sinosteel Midwest Corporation is an established iron ore exploration and mining company operating across the Midwest region of Western Australia. The Company holds multiple resources and tenements throughout the shires of Perenjori, Morowa, Cue, Meekatharra and Murchison. Each year, Sinosteel delivers systematic earthworks and drilling programs to advance exploration and support resource growth.

We are currently seeking a Senior Geologist to join our team and contribute to the progression of our exploration projects in the Midwest region.

About the Role Reporting to the Chief Geologist, this position offers broad exposure across the full mineral exploration lifecycle — from target generation through to resource estimation and project development.

This is a diverse and technically focused role combining exploration leadership, resource development, tenement management, regulatory compliance, statutory reporting and stakeholder engagement.

The position is primarily Perth office-based, with occasional site travel required throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage annual exploration budgets and work programs for designated tenements, ensuring cost-effective delivery of objectives.

Provide technical leadership and oversight across multiple exploration projects and field teams.

Liaise with statutory bodies, environmental regulators and Traditional Custodians to facilitate exploration activities.

Prepare and submit statutory reports (e.g., Form 5, EoTs, ATRs and MRFs) to DMIRS.

Act as the Company’s technical authority on exploration geology, advising on mineral systems, targeting methodologies and data interpretation.

Integrate and interpret multidisciplinary datasets (geology, geochemistry, geophysics, remote sensing) to generate high-quality, testable exploration targets.

Oversee QA/QC processes from data acquisition through to database management, including spatial databases.

Undertake geological modelling and contribute to resource estimation in collaboration with external consultants.

About You The ideal candidate will:

Hold a tertiary qualification in Geology (Honours preferred).

Have a minimum of 12 years’ relevant industry experience.

Demonstrate strong technical capability across exploration, modelling and resource development.

Possess excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.

Be highly proficient in ArcGIS, Micromine, QGIS, DataShed (or similar geological software) and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel).

Have desirable proficiency in Pix4D Mapper and SQL.

Thrive in a collaborative team environment while being capable of working autonomously.

Relevant qualifications for the statutory positions of alternate exploration manager and/or alternate SSE will be highly regarded.
