The Organisation Our client, one of Australia’s largest property fund managers, is seeking an engaging and experienced property lawyer to join the in-house legal team in the Melbourne CBD office.

The Role The role reports to a Managing Legal Counsel and involves working closely with other members of the legal team and partnering with stakeholders across all business functions and supporting core teams.

Responsibilities will include:

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating general commercial and property agreements such as confidentiality agreements, consultancy agreements, minor works agreements and construction agreements

Assisting with leasing matters

Managing tenant disputes

Assisting teams on property acquisition, disposal and capital and/or co-investment opportunities and mandate matters as required

Updating precedent documents, conducting research, and providing training to the business

About you This role would suit:

a proactive lawyer with transactional commercial property law experience

a minimum of 7 years’ PQE from a well-regarded law firm or similar in-house environment

Prior experience in high-value property acquisitions

Proficiency in managing leases ideally in the retail sector

ideally some knowledge of construction law (not essential)
