Overview We are currently recruiting for a Transmission Line Design Manager in a permanent role for our client who operate in the Power Transmission & Distribution industry. The position will ideally be based in Sydney. The position will be working on a multi-billion-dollar Transmission & Distribution project in Australia. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge in the design of high-voltage transmission lines and a proven track record in overseeing the design and coordinating with the client during large scale transmission projects. Responsibilities: Lead the design phase of this major transmission project, overseeing the development transmission lines, from conceptual design to final delivery. Act as the main point of contact for the client for transmission line design, facilitating regular updates, reviews, and communication to ensure design objectives align with project specifications and client expectations. Ensure all design outputs meet the highest technical standards and comply with relevant regulations, codes, and industry best practices, applying your expertise in PLS CADD and/or PLS TOWER to review and validate technical designs. Liaise with the internal team of engineers and design professionals, setting clear expectations, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project deliverables. Identify potential risks in the design phase and proactively implement mitigation strategies. Required Experience: A strong background in transmission line design, ideally with experience managing the design for large-scale infrastructure projects. Hands-on experience with PLS CADD and/or PLS TOWER, with the ability to lead a team in the use of these tools to achieve precise and reliable design outcomes. Proven experience in managing client relationships and interfacing with stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical deliverables, project timelines, and quality standards. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a design team to meet project goals within a high-stakes, deadline-driven environment. A history of successfully delivering large-scale transmission line projects, with strong project management skills to drive complex design initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil / Structural Engineering, or related field. Seniority level
