Senior Legal Counsel - Asset Management

You will be joining a leading listed alternative asset manager as a Senior Legal Counsel within their established and dynamic legal team based in Melbourne.

About the Role The company are a market-leading listed alternative asset manager with a strong collaborative environment, an established legal team and opportunities for development and progression. Responsibilities include:

Advise on the structuring, establishment and ongoing operation of wholesale funds across multiple alternative asset classes

Draft, negotiate and review fund formation documents, fund constitutions, investment management agreements, and service provider agreements

Provide guidance on Corporations Act, ASIC regulatory requirements, AFSL obligations and broader financial services law

Work closely with investment, distribution, risk and compliance teams to manage legal and regulatory risk across all strategies

Monitor regulatory developments relevant to wholesale funds and alternative investment vehicles

About You You have:

+6 years' PQE from a top-tier law firm or in-house funds management environment

Deep knowledge of fund structures, financial services regulation and alternative investment products

Strong drafting skills, commercial judgment and the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice

Collaborative, proactive mindset with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders
