Job Description
NQ Dry Tropics is seeking a passionate and motivated NRM Partnerships Facilitator for a permanent full-time position based in Townsville.
The successful candidate will coordinate and support project partners to plan and deliver practical on-ground work that cares for Country. They will work closely with Indigenous Ranger groups, Traditional Owners, landholders, government partners, and community groups to co-design project activities, build local capacity, and support on-ground monitoring and threat-reduction. This role requires facilitation skills to support collaboration towards achieving common goals.
They will be responsible for keeping project activities on track by coordinating stakeholders, managing risks, and balancing priorities. Strong communication skills will be required so that partners have clear direction and support, ensuring work is delivered on time, in scope, and in line with funding requirements.
Requirements for the role:
Relevant qualifications in natural resource management, environmental science or equivalent relevant work experience and vocational or industry education/training.
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement within the natural resource management sector.
GIS and field mapping skills or ability to acquire.
Current โCโ class driverโs licence and ability to undertake fieldwork, including travel within the Burdekin Dry Tropics region. This will necessitate travel outside standard hours with nights away from home.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office and Google suite of products.
HLTDAID011 - First Aid Certificate, or the ability to obtain.

Strong ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and communication, with excellent interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders, investors, and team members.
Project management skills:
Proven ability to support project partners to develop, implement, and manage projects. This includes planning, stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, budgeting, milestone tracking, risk management, compliance with regulations, reporting, and mentoring when required.
Technical knowledge and analytical skills:
Understanding of natural resource management principles, with strong understanding of the role of Traditional Owners as Custodians of Country. Good participatory planning, monitoring and analytical skills to inform on-ground decisions. GIS skills or the ability to acquire.
Adaptability and problem-solving ability:
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments, balance competing priorities, with effective problem-solving and time management skills to address challenges, and mitigate risks.
