Job Description
About Sharon AI
SHARON AI is Australia’s leading Neocloud, delivering large-scale sovereign GPU compute platforms for enterprise, research, and government customers. Our mission is to design, deploy, and scale world-class AI factories that enable advanced AI training, inference, and high‑performance computing workloads to run securely, reliably, and at production scale across Australia and the region.
The Role
This is a foundational leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering Sharon AI’s infrastructure architecture and deployment strategy across compute, storage, networking, and data centre environments.
You will lead infrastructure design and build through initial deployments and scale‑out, working closely with executive leadership, partners, and customers to ensure environments are production‑ready and built for long‑term growth. While Sharon AI has established an operations function, this role takes primary ownership of infrastructure architecture and vendor engagement through the build phase, before transitioning environments into steady‑state operations.
What You’ll Be Working On
Core Infrastructure:
Design and deployment of GPU‑accelerated and HPC platforms across compute, storage, and networking.
Next‑Gen Environments:
Overseeing liquid cooling and high‑density data centre deployments.
Network & Storage:
High‑performance networking (InfiniBand and Ethernet) and storage platforms optimised for AI.
Software Integration:
Workload orchestration and infrastructure tooling, including NVIDIA NVAIE, Mission Control, and related platforms.
Repeatable Build Strategy:
Establishing architecture standards and deployment playbooks for repeatable “AI factory” builds.
Responsibilities
Technical Authority & Design
Lead the design and build of GPU cloud infrastructure across DC, compute, storage, and networking.
Act as the senior technical authority for architecture, vendor selection, and deployment strategy.
Drive best practices across virtualisation, containerisation, and liquid‑cooled high‑density environments.
Ensure infrastructure is designed for multi‑tenant, secure, and scalable GPUaaS delivery.
Strategic Growth & Partnerships
Partner with the executive team to align infrastructure capability with commercial growth and platform roadmap.
Lead technical engagement with key partners, including NVIDIA, OEMs, and data centre providers.
Oversee evaluation and deployment of emerging GPU‑accelerated and HPC platforms.
Support customer and investor technical discussions, providing deep infrastructure credibility.
Execution & Delivery
Work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure clean transition from build into steady‑state production.
Establish architecture, standards and deployment playbooks that enable repeatable AI factory builds.
Maintain strong commercial judgement, balancing performance, cost, and speed to deploy.
What We’re Looking For
Deep Technical Credibility : Significant experience in hyperscale, cloud, HPC, or GPU‑accelerated environments.
Proven Track Record : Experience designing and deploying accelerated computing infrastructure at scale for both training and inference workloads.
Ecosystem Expertise : Strong understanding of NVIDIA and leading OEM platforms.
Strategic Thinker : Ability to operate at pace in a scaling GPUaaS environment while maintaining standards.
Effective Communicator : Excellent engagement skills across executive, engineering, and partner audiences.
Background and Experience
Essentials:
12–15+ years’ experience in infrastructure, cloud, HPC, or large‑scale platform environments.
Industry Context:
Experience working within hyperscale cloud, service providers, Neoclouds, or large HPC environments is highly regarded.
Technical Breadth:
Deep knowledge of compute, storage, networking, and data centre architecture for high‑density environments.
Leadership:
Experience working with OEM partners in complex multi‑vendor environments and the ability to operate hands‑on while building a team.
Highly Regarded (Preferred):
Specific experience in GPUaaS, AI cloud, or Neocloud environments.
Familiarity with AI/ML workloads, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation.
Experience delivering high‑density infrastructure into hyperscale or colocation data centres, particularly within sovereign or regulated environments.
Why Work at SHARON AI
Play a foundational role in building one of Australia’s most advanced sovereign AI platforms.
Work at the forefront of GPU cloud and AI infrastructure deployment.
Partner with global technology leaders and major enterprise and government customers.
Shape the infrastructure foundation of a rapidly scaling AI platform business.
Join at a formative stage with significant influence on architecture, vendor ecosystem and long‑term platform strategy.
