About the Role
This fantastic opportunity is for a motivated
Solicitor
looking to join our high-performing
General Insurance
practice in our
Melbourne
office. Ideally, you will have at least one years’ post qualification experience, with a strong interest in insurance litigation.
In this role, you will work across a
wide range property claims (recoveries and liability), first-party coverage disputes, and fraud and investigation matters.
You will work with Australia’s leading general insurers, under the supervision and guidance of our Principal Lawyers.
This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to be heavily involved in all aspects of their matters, allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. You will be supported by Principal and Senior Lawyers who are committed to mentoring and developing you, while being part of a collegiate and collaborative team. This is the perfect environment to further develop your advocacy skills, strategic-advice work, and practice management skills.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:
A genuine interest in property claims (recoveries and liability) and fraud and investigations
At least one years’ post admission experience in an insurance litigation practice
Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
Ability to work fast and meticulously with high attention to detail
Excellent communication and organisational skill
Ability to work collaboratively with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy
A great work ethic and be keen to learn and develop your career
A hard working and dedicated approach to your practice
Skills & Abilities
Demonstrates an understanding of the legal issues relevant to the practice of insurance law and a demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the commercial objectives of clients
This role requires an eye for technical detail but also the ability to provide legal advice in a commercial context. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly with a high level of attention to detail
Proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of seniority
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to deal confidently with clients directly and foster client relationships
Time management skills and proven ability to prioritisemultiple active matters at any one time
Capacity to problem solve and think laterally
