Executive leadership position
Lead a high-performing investment team
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Investments is a key executive leadership role responsible for developing, executing, and stewarding the Fund’s investment strategy to deliver strong long-term, risk-adjusted outcomes for members.
Working closely with the Board and Investment Committee, you will lead the Fund’s investment function, oversee portfolio construction and manager selection, and ensure robust investment governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of the Fund’s investment strategy and strategic asset allocation
Oversee portfolio construction, rebalancing, liquidity management, and transition activity across listed and unlisted assets
Partner closely with the Fund’s investment consultant and external managers on research, selection, monitoring, and termination decisions
Provide high-quality investment advice, reporting, and recommendations to the Board and Investment Committee
Lead responsible investment, ESG integration, and climate risk management initiatives
Maintain and enhance the Fund’s investment governance framework in line with APRA SPS 530 and regulatory expectations
Oversee derivative usage, unlisted asset valuation, and investment risk management frameworks
Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing investment team, fostering a strong risk and performance culture
Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in investment strategy and product design
About You
You are a highly credible senior investment leader with a strong track record in institutional portfolio management and governance. You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, with CFA or postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
12+ years’ experience in institutional investing, including senior leadership roles within superannuation, funds management, or asset consulting
Demonstrated success in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and manager research and oversight
Deep knowledge of APRA prudential standards, investment governance, and regulatory frameworks
Proven experience working with Boards and Investment Committees
Strong commercial acumen, including manager fee negotiation and cost management
Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capability
A commitment to responsible investment, strong risk culture, and member-first outcomes
