We’re seeking an experienced, visionary leader to take the reins of Country Road Home – a category poised for significant growth within one of Australia’s most loved lifestyle brands.

As the General Manager of Country Road Home reporting to the MD of Country Road, you will drive the strategic direction and deliver on the company’s strategic market growth plan. You will own and champion the design vision for the Country Road Home product range, ensuring it remains true to our brand heritage, resonates with our customers, and reflects Country Road’s iconic aesthetic.

This is a pivotal role where creative leadership meets commercial impact. You will collaborate closely with key teams, including Visual Merchandising, Retail, Real Estate, and Store Development, to shape and expand our stand‑alone store fleet, delivering elevated customer experiences that support both brand and business growth.

As a critical part of the CR leadership team, you will embrace and be excited by change. You will be a collaboration guru and lead a safe and inclusive environment that inspires and cultivates a high performing team.

Key Accountabilities

Lead the end-to-end strategy for Country Road Home with full P&L responsibility, setting the long‑term vision and driving execution to grow market share, profitability, and brand presence in line with the company’s strategic growth plan.

Oversee the development of customer‑focused, brand‑aligned product ranges. Ensure the merchandise strategy meets commercial goals across pricing, margin, and range architecture, while remaining true to Country Road’s design aesthetic.

Inspire and guide the Design team to deliver seasonal concepts, colour direction, and innovative product ideas. Translate global trends into commercially successful collections that resonate with our customer and elevate the brand.

Partner with Visual Merchandising, Retail, Store Development, and Real Estate teams to evolve and expand the stand‑alone CR Home store concept, delivering a cohesive and elevated customer experience across all channels.

Work closely with Planning, Production, Marketing, and Insights teams to ensure products are delivered on time, to quality standards, and supported by compelling brand storytelling.

Champion brand awareness and customer engagement through strategic marketing initiatives, product collaborations, and innovation that positions Country Road Home as a market leader in premium lifestyle retail.

Review trade performance and customer insights to inform future strategy. Actively participate in weekly trade meetings, identifying key risks and opportunities across the range.

Lead, coach, and mentor a high‑performing team with clear KPIs and development plans, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture aligned with Country Road values.

Ensure all sourcing, development, and supply chain processes support our sustainability goals and comply with internal and external ethical and quality standards.

Contribute to the broader Country Road Leadership Team, supporting cross‑functional initiatives and strategic business planning across the brand.

Key Capabilities

Proven experience in senior leadership roles with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire large teams

Extensive background in design leadership, specifically within the homewares category

Strong expertise in homeware product design and development across both hardgoods and textiles

Demonstrated success in building and executing end‑to‑end homeware ranges

Experience sourcing from and working with overseas vendors, particularly in China and India

Deep understanding of local and international markets, trends, and customer behaviour

Strong brand‑building capability with experience in enhancing and nurturing brand value

Ability to identify emerging trends and translate them into compelling seasonal product visions

Strategic thinker with the ability to align long‑term goals with business objectives

Highly adaptable and responsive to fast‑paced, evolving market conditions

Skilled in leading through change, transitions, and implementing new initiatives effectively

Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to navigate complex challenges and develop creative solutions

Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels of the business

Commercially minded with strong business acumen and a growth‑driven mindset

Proven ability to foster a high‑performance culture and build succession pipelines

Strong negotiation skills and ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Salary : A$130,000.00‑A$150,000.00
