Senior Support Engineer

to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. You’ll be accountable for developing several planned enhancements to existing financial models built primarily using MS SQL Server in a Microsoft Windows environment. The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of database technologies and the ability to write and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, and SQL queries within MS SQL Server and Google Cloud BigQuery. Working within an inter-disciplinary team, the Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for providing technical guidance and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet the team’s requirements. You’ll advocate for and implement best practice coding principles, including code reviews, to maintain a high standard in code quality and system performance. This is a great opportunity to lead enhancements to financial models, provide technical guidance, and ensure high-quality database solutions as a Senior Support Engineer. Develop and implement a pipeline of planned enhancements to existing financial models Create solutions for diverse and complex problems found in systems that perform financial modelling Provide technical guidance and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet the team’s requirements Lead a culture within the Function that fosters the One Australia Post approach, focuses on safety & wellbeing, and puts the customer at the forefront of all activities and decisions Building security into product and feature development and conforming to all corporate information security policies and guidelines About You

You have at least five years’ experience in database development, including a minimum of two years working with MS SQL Server. You’re skilled at writing and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions, and you’re comfortable collaborating on code within a team environment. Your excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills enable you to explain technical concepts clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.
