Job Description

Your New Role As a Change Director, you will have responsibilities across our Change Management Practice (internally) and with our clients (externally). The following points provide an overview of expectations for the role, noted that there will be a degree of flexibility in the role based on capacity from billable work.

Change Management Practice responsibilities: As a Change Director, you will work closely with our General Manager Change Management. Responsibilities will vary but typically include:

Business development - Use your market insight and client relationships to help identify new opportunities. Shape our responses to proposals, EOIs and panel submissions. Grow client accounts through effective Change Management and strategic conversations. Regularly represent the firm at industry and networking events and contribute thought leadership content to support our brand and marketing efforts. You’ll be comfortable taking a client brief, suggesting next steps, and following up with insight.

Recruitment - Support the recruitment process for the Change Management Practice, ensuring our high standard of are maintained

Quality assurance - Perform QA reviews and ensure action plans are tracked effectively

Improvement - Identify and deliver improvements to the Change Management Practice

Client-facing responsibilities: As a Change Director, you will work directly with our program sponsors and clients in hands on roles across all areas of Change Management to deliver high quality outcomes. Each engagement is different, but typically a Change Directo is expected to be able to design, lead and deliver Change Management services on a complex program or portfolio with responsibilities that include:

Undertaking a discovery process to analyse change drivers and identify enterprise-level or industry themes

Scoping Change Management work and making resourcing and cost estimates

Understanding and leading organisational change at the enterprise level

Analysing a client's business, operations and structure to understand where there is a potential impact from change and to what level that impact needs to be managed

Proposing solutions to reduce or mitigate the potential impact of organisational changes

Meeting, influencing and presenting to executive stakeholders including preparing business documents and slides

Undertaking advisory services, which typically include a review, analysis and recommendation of an ePMO or Change Management function

Proposing strategic tactics to manage organisational changes at the enterprise level in a way that leads to the desired outcomes

Executing on multi-year plans while reporting on progress, raising risks and issues, maintaining effective relationships, and being a supportive project team member

Evaluating and measuring the success of change interventions across activity, proficiency, usage and adoption

Applying Project Management principles as well as Agile, Waterfall and hybrid methods

Providing the needed level of support to the recipients of change as well as business leaders and sponsors during and after the project

Mentoring and motivating Change Management practitioners who are more junior in the team

Contributing thought leadership (articles, speaking at conferences, webinars) to our Practice and the field

What You Bring Coming into the Change Management Practice at the Change Director level means that you will bring past leadership experience, in-depth knowledge of transformation programs and the end-to-end strategy, planning and delivery of organisational change.

Typically, Change Directors have:

12+ years of dedicated experience in Change Management

Experience building and/or leading a Change Management team, practice, centre of excellence or enterprise function

Experience designing and managing a single view of change

Experience managing Change Management practitioners who are more junior

Experience managing end-to-end change across multiple streams of large, complex, multi-million-dollar programs that deliver process, people/culture and technology changes

Experience providing consulting services and leading proposals/bid preparation

Experience speaking at conferences (virtual or in person), on podcasts or in other forums on topics in/related to Change Management

A Bachelor's degree or higher (often in Psychology and Organisational Psychology, Business, Communications/Journalism, Human Resources, Project Management, Applied / Behavioural Science or similar)

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint, and including Microsoft Project

Strong written and verbal communication skills with well-honed executive presentation skills
