Data Architect

Our client, a consultancy, is seeking a Data Architect to design and define end-to-end data architectures that align business goals with cutting‑edge technology standards. This role offers a long‑term 12‑month contract with a likelihood of extension. You will be the backbone of the data ecosystem, developing robust models and defining seamless integration patterns across internal and external systems. You will serve as a strategic guide for data platforms, including data lakes and analytics solutions, while ensuring every design meets rigorous performance, scalability, and security requirements. What You'll Be Doing:

Architectural Design:

Define end-to-end data architecture aligned with business and security standards. Data Modeling:

Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical models across enterprise systems. Integration & Flow:

Establish data integration patterns and interfaces. Governance & Standards:

Enforce naming conventions, modeling best practices, and support data quality and lineage initiatives. Collaboration:

Work closely with solution architects, engineers, and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into actionable designs. What You'll Bring

Experience:

5+ years in Data Architecture or senior data‑focused roles. Technical Depth:

Strong expertise in enterprise data models, relational and NoSQL databases, and data warehouses. Cloud Proficiency:

Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Factory, or Databricks (or equivalent). Security Mindset:

Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and access control. Support:

Proven ability to support analytics, reporting, and downstream data consumption. Location & Requirements

Location:

Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane. Work Model:

Hybrid Working Model. Clearance:
