As a dynamic and fast-growing firm, we are seeking a full-time Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution Management
Assisting the commercial litigation team with:
Execution of high-stakes commercial litigation and dispute resolution cases including but not limited to cases involving corporations law disputes (such as shareholder oppression disputes and directors’ liability/duties disputes) insolvency disputes, intellectual property disputes property disputes and contractual disputes, particularly in the Supreme Court. This includes handling complex, multi-party litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants, with a focus on shareholder disputes, directors’ and officers’ liability and warranty and indemnity claims.
Lead all work streams related to litigation, including conducting thorough investigations, drafting pleadings, managing document discovery and preparing evidence. Ensure the effective conduct of proceedings from start to finish, including managing trials and ensuring the best possible outcomes for clients.
Handling all aspects of commercial litigation proceedings, including conducting investigations, undertaking research, drafting pleadings, managing discovery, preparing for and attending mediations, preparing evidence and instructing counsel.
Briefing counsel and managing client relationships.
Trial preparation, ensuring effective conduct of proceedings and the best possible outcomes for clients.
While your primary focus will be on commercial litigation, you may also be called upon to assist in other areas of law where appropriate, ensuring a well-rounded and comprehensive service offering for all clients.
Practice Development and Innovation
Contribute to the practice’s growth by identifying new service areas, including sports law, entertainment expansion and AI applications within legal services.
Collaborate with other senior lawyers to explore innovative solutions and expansion opportunities, enhancing the firm’s service offerings.
Additional Legal Support
Provide well-rounded legal support by assisting in other areas of law as needed, ensuring comprehensive service across the firm’s client portfolio.
Who You Are
Experience: 4+ years of experience in commercial litigation, commercial law and dispute resolution.
Technical Proficiency:
Exceptional legal research, drafting and document management skills, with strong attention to detail.
Stakeholder Management:
Proven ability to manage stakeholder relations in complex commercial transactions.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Project Management:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle competing deadlines and manage case timelines effectively.
Independence and Teamwork:
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, demonstrating resilience, adaptability and a proactive approach.
Problem-Solving:
A solutions-focused attitude, combined with strong negotiation skills, optimism and a positive outlook.
