Legal Counsel - Commercial In-House Role (Property Industry)

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH) About the Role We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to support the next phase of growth at Search Property. This is a strategic, business-facing role where you’ll provide legal advice across commercial contracts, compliance, governance, and operational matters, all within a fast-paced property investment environment. You’ll work closely with our executive and operational teams to manage legal risk, support commercial decision-making, and help shape the legal foundations of a fast-scaling, property-focused business. You’ll also liaise with property conveyancers and solicitors to ensure smooth transaction processes, and play a key role in streamlining and creating efficiencies in conveyancing. What You’ll Be Doing Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (supplier, referral, service, partnership) Liaise with property conveyancers and solicitors to support property transactions Assist in reviewing and improving internal conveyancing processes to create efficiencies Advise on commercial strategy, corporate structure, and business operations Oversee compliance with licensing, privacy, consumer law, and other regulatory requirements Support leaders with legal input into business decisions and strategic initiatives Identify and manage legal risks across departments Assist with escalated commercial issues or disputes Work with counsel on complex or litigious matters Support internal governance, policies, and compliance processes About You 3+ years practising experience, ideally in a general commercial or in property law/conveyancing Confident negotiating commercial contracts and advising internal stakeholders Sound knowledge of corporate, consumer, and privacy law Strong commercial judgement and ability to balance legal risk with business needs Experience in a regulated or client-facing environment preferred Exposure to the property sector or related industries (real estate, financial services, professional services) is a bonus Experience working with conveyancers or on property transactions will be highly regarded Why You’ll Love It Here We’re one of Australia’s fastest-growing companies, helping clients build real wealth through property, and we’re only getting started.
