Are you a passionate early childhood educator seeking your next career step in an Aboriginal-focused centre? Kalaya Children’s Centre is looking for a Diploma-qualified Room Leader for a full-time role in our caring, community-oriented environment.

About the Role

Lead and deliver an outstanding educational program, mentor colleagues, and set a positive tone in your room.

Build strong relationships with children, families, and your team, celebrating the cultural identity, traditions, and languages of Aboriginal staff, children, and families.

Design and implement innovative, culturally responsive learning and care programs aligned with best practices.

Document and share children’s learning journeys with families.

Embed Aboriginal perspectives in everyday curriculum, championing imagination and curiosity.

About You

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent).

Genuine passion for working with Aboriginal children and families, fostering collaboration, connection, and belonging.

Sound knowledge of EYLF and NQS frameworks.

Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Current Working With Children Check, First Aid, CPR, and RRHAN certificates, or willingness to obtain.

Positive, accountable, and caring attitude; thrives in a busy environment.

Experience as a Room Leader or eagerness to develop in early childhood education.

Diploma or Bachelor’s in early childhood or related field.
