Psychiatrist Franzcp / Assessed - Perth

Position We are seeking qualified Consultant Psychiatrists to join the Mental Health Division across various positions, including General Adult and Inpatient Services, Community Mental Health, Emergency Department, and Mental Health Emergency Centre. These roles are located within Perth Hospital and Health Service.

The Consultant Psychiatrist will play a key role in ensuring patient safety and quality of care while providing leadership, training, orientation, supervision, and education for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners, and other health professionals where appropriate.

Hospital The Health Service offers a comprehensive range of public mental health services for individuals aged 16 and above through both community services and hospital settings. They operate two major mental health divisions, each catering to different suburbs.

As the largest Mental Health Service in a diverse geographical area, the Mental Health Division delivers care through 128 mental health beds across youth, adult, rehabilitation, and older adult inpatient units. The facilities also include a tertiary-level Emergency Department and a comprehensive mental health consultation liaison service for general and surgical wards.

The inpatient services feature a state-of-the-art Mental Health Emergency Centre, and a purpose-built 12-bed Mental Health Unit dedicated to treating individuals with acute and complex mental health conditions. As a premier teaching hospital, they are committed to advancing medical research and patient care.

The second facility, located 11km from Perth CBD, is part of the group and specializes in mental health care, aged care services, obstetrics, and rehabilitation.

The Mental Health Division also operates three community services, focusing on providing specialist care for the adult and older adult populations. In addition, several state-wide services, including the State Aboriginal Mental Health Service, the Mobile Community Outreach Team, and the Mental Health Emergency Response Line, are also part of their division.

AHPRA-registered Psychiatry Specialists (FRANZCP)

RANZCP Trainees in their final 6 months

Substantially comparable RANZCP International Medical Graduates (eligible)
