We have an opportunity for aCredit Officer to join our national Finance team, based in ourMelbourne office.

The Finance Team at Hall &Wilcox is a team of 38 that provide financial and managementaccounting, trust accounting, accounts payable, accountsreceivable, payroll, banking and practice support functions acrossthe Firm.

Reporting to the CreditManager, you will have experience in collecting debtors for thefirm. Working closely with partners to manage debtors andcollections.

This role will form part ofthe credit control function and will assist with the day-to-dayworkflow of the team.

You will be responsiblefor:

managing debtorcollections across the insurance and commercial practices. Thisincludes collections via calls and emails;

liaising with partners toassist with collection of their clients' outstanding debtors,whilst identifying the best communication method to use giventhe circumstances;

resolving clientqueries;

assisting the Receipting& Allocation Officer with rectifying unidentifieddeposits;

maintenance andimprovement of processes and procedures to control financialtransactions;

acting as a back up tothe Receipting & Allocation Officers and assist withthe following tasks when required:

Receipting forfirm accounts

Processing clientcredit card payments

Resolving clientpayment queries

Rectifyingunidentified deposits

Preparingdocumentation for refunds of duplicate/incorrectpayments; and

ad hoc duties as requiredfrom time to time.

Aboutyou You will ideally have thefollowing skills and experience:

Minimum 3+ years’experience in credit control, ideally within a law firm orprofessional services environment;

Relevant tertiaryqualification;

Proven experiencemanaging high-volume debtor collections and receipting, with astrong track record of reducing debt and maximising cashflow;

Strong decision-makingskills in debt collection, including knowing what informationto send, who to send it to, and when to escalateissues;

Ability to build andmaintain strong internal relationships across all levels,coupled with a strong customer service focus;

Demonstrated ability towork both autonomously and collaboratively within ateam.

Advanced Microsoft Excelskills;

Highly proactive approachwith excellent organisational skills, including the ability toplan and prioritise effectively;

Exceptional verbal andwritten communication skills, strong attention to detail, andproblem-solving ability; and

High level of enthusiasm,positivity, and resilience.
