Job Description
Overview
A strategic partnership between an Australian and a European construction company will result in the delivery of a landmark hospital facility—an advanced healthcare development that establishes benchmarks for sustainability, functionality, and design excellence. The Design Engineering Manager will occupy a crucial leadership position, responsible for overseeing the design, coordination, and technical execution phases of this complex infrastructure project.
Reporting to the Alliance Manager and also to the European Technical Director, the appointee will supervise all project design and delivery stages. Responsibilities include ensuring technical compliance, cost efficiency, and meeting alliance goals, while coordinating between internal teams, design partners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
You should demonstrate strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, along with excellent coordination and communication abilities across various disciplines, as working collaboratively and focusing on solutions is essential within an alliance contracting framework. Your interpersonal strengths should be supported by a thorough knowledge of design processes, standards, and compliance requirements, as well as proficiency in cost control and value engineering. Experience with tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD, Project, Presto, and Office is also expected.
