Actuary/Data Scientist - APS4, APS6 & EL1

Overview

Our client, an independent statutory Government agency in the disability sector, is seeking multiple data scientists with an actuarial background to join their team. These roles can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra. About the role

Overseeing, leading, managing, and taking responsibility for deliverables of data analysis, policy proposal briefs, and key stakeholder management. Producing and communicating detailed technical, professional, and policy advice on complex problems to internal and external stakeholders. Researching and implementing innovative techniques and interdisciplinary methods to solve business issues. Designing statistical, mathematical, and various data science models to conduct analytical work that addresses business issues. Communicating effectively verbally and in writing, and presenting the outcomes of work undertaken, tailored to context and stakeholders. About you

Must be an Australian citizen. 1–10 years of actuarial and data science experience. Experience working in government is essential. Strong technical skills in R, Python, SQL, git, and GLMs. Experience in leading/managing small teams would be highly regarded for APS6 and EL1 levels. How to apply
