$147,769 to $156,144 p.a.

Location(s) – Brisbane or Townsville. Oversee the services of the CS team who use statistical expertise and relevant software to process, analyse and report on crime and justice statistics. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:

Lead the preparation of crime and justice statistical outputs, complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, speeches and correspondence that satisfy QGSO standards for integrity, accuracy and timeliness based on sound principles and methodologies.

Manage data holdings and data brokerage in accordance with best practice and QGSO standards.

Oversee day-to-day team activity and progress other management tasks such as strategic and business planning, professional development, coordination of workflows, utilisation of human, financial and other resources, performance management and quality assurance.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships across QGSO, research and statistical bodies and other government stakeholders.

Support the active promotion of statistical standards and review statistical data in consultation with statistical bodies and other government agencies.

Exercise judgment to coordinate the management of client and stakeholder requirements and competing team priorities.

Provide high level technical advice, information and support to clients and senior officers on complex and diverse issues.

Represent QGSO at state/commonwealth conferences, internal/external meetings and interdepartmental working groups.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE:

Knowledge and applied experience in the collection, processing, analysis and presentation of statistical data.

Experience managing small teams and complex projects.

Very high level written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to foster productive and healthy work environments.

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
