Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experience Neurologists to join the Neurology department.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneโs rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.
In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role
This role requires the successful applicant to:
Staff a first seizure clinic, an epilepsy clinic and ward service in both neurology and stroke
This role is responsible for
Providing excellent Neurology and Epileptology inpatient and outpatient care, specifically providing a first seizure clinic, an epilepsy clinic and ward service in both neurology and stroke
Engagement in Neurology unit activities including multidisciplinary meetings, quality projects and medical education
To be successful in this role you will have
Undergraduate or postgraduate medical degree
Appropriate specialty qualifications such as Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), subspecialty Epilepsy training and ANZAN level 2 or higher EEG accreditation
Experience and good working knowledge of the diagnosis and management of patients with Epilepsy, General Neurological conditions and Stroke in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrated skills in Epilepsy, Neurological and Stroke diagnosis and management
Well developed approach to clinical medicine and medical education
