About the Role

The Merchandise Planner leads category strategy and drives strong commercial outcomes across assigned departments, while maintaining a holistic view of how each category contributes to MESHKI’s overall business performance. Combining advanced forecasting, financial planning and inventory management with strong cross-functional leadership, this role optimises sales, margin and stock efficiency, influences key business decisions and supports the development of junior planners. What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the end-to-end merchandise planning strategy across all categories, aligned to brand values and business growth objectives. Partner closely with the CEO, CFO and senior leadership to shape long-term growth, category expansion and inventory efficiency. Own seasonal and multi-year financial planning, including sales, margin, stock, markdown and profitability targets. Deliver insight-led recommendations that influence investment decisions, range strategy and stock allocation. Oversee the development of balanced, customer-centric ranges that maximise full-price sell-through and mitigate risk. Lead seasonal planning and in-season trading decisions, including markdowns, stock movements and allocation optimisation. Own global inventory management across online channels, warehouses and liquidation partners, optimising stock flow and cashflow. Drive WSSI & MSSI performance, intake management, commitment phasing and terminal stock reduction strategies. Champion continuous improvement in forecasting, replenishment, allocation and scenario planning through data-driven insights. Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing Merchandise Planning team, fostering collaboration, accountability and inclusive leadership. What You’ll Need to Bring

Significant experience in a Head of Merchandising Role for 2+ Years. Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment. Deep understanding of retail industry dynamics, market trends, and customer behaviour, with the ability to adapt strategies proactively. Strong financial acumen: experience in margin analysis, budgeting, OTB, and profitability management. Proven track record in strategic stock planning, including forecasting, allocation, and optimisation across multiple channels. Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills, capable of influencing CEO’s/CFO-level decisions. Strong analytical skills: ability to turn complex data into actionable insights for business decisions. Experience in pricing strategy, promotional planning, and commercial range analysis. Proficiency in merchandising and analytical software systems. Experience leading international market planning.
