Solution Architect

Solution Architect As a Solution Architect, you will provide thought leadership and expertise across our Technology and Business Units. You will be instrumental in developing our new product platforms, working closely with business, technology, and security teams to provide architectural guidance and patterns that ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software.

Your New Team You will join our agile Architecture team, part of the wider Technology Enterprise Services department. This role is highly collaborative; you will work to define and evolve our architecture to meet business needs, migrating on-premise systems to a cloud-first approach while helping to shape our long‑term technical roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure new product development is aligned with both business and technical strategy.

Collaborate widely to ensure the direction and strategy of software solutions deliver the outcomes expected by the business.

Provide an internal consulting function on aspects of architecture and technical strategy.

Break down goals for technical strategy into a plan that can be executed iteratively.

Communicate architecture and plans to Directors, development teams, and business partners.

Document, review, and update architecture materials.

Ensure that development and projects comply with agreed standards and patterns.

Contribute to A&G’s commitment to adhering to the regulatory framework overseen by APRA.

Qualifications & Experience

Demonstrated experience in software product development as an Architect on large, complex systems.

First‑class interpersonal skills with the ability to build consensus and articulate a strategy.

Experience in distilling complex business needs and technical change into clear direction.

Experience with containerised Java microservice and event‑driven architecture patterns.

Experience with digital application development for both online customers and internal business users.

Knowledge of AWS features and how best to use them in designing solutions.

Cloud‑first thinking and experience in migrating on‑premise systems to the cloud.

Experience designing solutions that integrate multiple line‑of‑business applications.

Insurance or financial services knowledge is desirable.
