As a Doctor in the Air Force, you’ll provide the highest standards of patient care and lead teams in a variety of unique environments. You’ll be an integral part of the Defence Health System, providing a diverse range of services including the long‑term monitoring of Air Force and other ADF members' physical and mental health.

providing occupational and aviation medical advice

supervising, leading and managing other health roles and subordinate members

maintaining medical documentation

liaising with non‑ADF medical agencies

planning, coordinating and performing aeromedical evacuations, in the tactical, operational, and strategic environments

long‑term monitoring of members' physical and mental fitness

assisting in natural disaster areas.

Whilst studying, your salary will be between $40,251 and $61,717 depending on the completion status of your degree. Upon graduation and completion of initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $138,979 per annum.

Location

Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley or Williamtown.

For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian citizen, and be studying or have accepted an offer of placement at an Australian Medical Council accredited university for a full‑time degree at a Faculty of Medicine.
