As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Oncology, you will be a trusted scientific partner to the medical community. This field-based role sits at the intersection of clinical science, strategic insights, and external engagement. You will play a critical role in driving peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange, supporting early clinical adoption, and contributing to improved patient outcomes across the oncology landscape. Our Medical Affairs team is central to our purpose — ensuring our science reaches the clinicians and patients who need it most. The Opportunity

In this role, you will develop meaningful partnerships with External Experts (EEs), healthcare providers, centres of excellence, and other key stakeholders. You will communicate high-quality medical and scientific information, gather actionable insights, and support cross-functional initiatives that shape strategy from clinical development through to post‑launch. Stakeholder Engagement

Identify, profile, and strategically engage External Experts and key clinical stakeholders across your territory Build long-term, trust-based partnerships that support scientific exchange and early clinical adoption Communicate clinical data and value propositions using tailored, omnichannel engagement Lead or support medical education activities, advisory boards, round‑table discussions, preceptorships, and congress participation Insight Generation

Proactively gather field insights related to disease management, clinical practice, data gaps, patient pathways, competitive landscape, and stakeholder needs Document and communicate insights internally to inform Medical Affairs and cross‑functional strategic decisions Support development and execution of actions driven by scientific insights Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with Clinical Operations on site identification, study feasibility, and recruitment insights Partner with Market Access, HEOR, and Healthcare Affairs on scientific discussions supporting value and access Engage with Patient Engagement teams to better understand patient challenges and improve care pathways Support early access programs and internal scientific training initiatives Contribute to data generation activities, including Real World Evidence and IIS support Compliance & Professional Standards

Conduct all activities in alignment with Boehringer’s Code of Conduct, local laws, industry guidelines, and ethical standards Uphold Boehringer’s commitment to scientific integrity and patient‑centricity at all times Your profile

Bachelor’s degree in life/health sciences; advanced degree (MD, PhD, Master’s, MBA) in oncology or cancer research preferred Expertise in oncology/lung cancer or solid tumors with knowledge of the local oncology landscape and clinical practices Experience within pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical role Willingness to travel within territory and occasionally internationally Strong collaboration skills with ability to build and strengthen trusted partnerships Excellent interpersonal and scientific communication skills Proficiency in digital tools, including Microsoft 365, and ability to learn new systems Strategic thinking, strong planning, and excellent time/resource management Demonstrates agility, growth mindset, emotional intelligence, accountability, teamwork, and resilience Ability to meet KPIs and thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment Preference for candidates based in Melbourne but all suitable candidates will be considered What’s next? - How to apply
