Lead a VMWare to AWS cloud migration project

Our client:

A leading global fortune 500 consulting client working onsite with a key mining player in WA.

The role:

The AWS Solutions Architect will work closely with a Lead VMWare Engineer on a VMWare to AWS Cloud migration project. This is an initial 12‑month project based onsite in Perth CBD.

Responsibilities

Define the enterprise cloud architecture aligned to AWS Well‑Architected pillars and organisational standards

Work with a Lead VM Engineer and coordinate AWS engineers, PMs, and cross‑functional teams

Lead discovery (CMDB validation, dependency mapping, tooling baselines), application readiness assessments, and wave planning

Creation of architecture design and associated documentation

Key skills

Extensive experience in architecture / engineering leading enterprise VMWare AND/ OR cloud migrations to AWS

Deep expertise in areas including AWS Core: EC2, EBS, S3, VPC/Subnets, NAT/IGW, Security Groups/NACLs, Route 53, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Systems Manager

Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement ability

Certifications in areas including AWS Architecture and VMWare (VCP/ VCAP etc) would be highly regarded.
