Local Council in Melbourne’s West Work Model:

Hybrid We are seeking an experienced Communications & Engagement Advisor for a temporary contract with a local council in Melbourne’s western suburbs. This role requires Victorian local government experience.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic communications support to internal departments, including preparing communications plans and deliverables

Research, write and assist with production of corporate publications

Support media liaison activities, including drafting responses, alerts and releases, and coordinating photo opportunities

Prepare speeches as required

Plan and deliver communications for special projects

Conduct media monitoring and reporting

Undertake other duties as directed by the Coordinator or Manager

About You

Proven experience in a communications role within Victorian local government (essential)

Strong writing, stakeholder engagement and advisory skills

Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs
