Senior Cyber Risk Consultant Sydney, New South Wales/ Melbourne, Victoria

AXA XL offers more than 30 lines of business across Property, Casualty and Specialty risk. We are building a Cyber Risk Consulting proposition to support clients on their cyber risk management journey and enhance our underwriting and consulting services globally.

You will join to develop AXA XL’s global Cyber underwriting and consulting services proposition and work with the Global Head of Cyber Consulting to position AXA XL to offer clients and brokers product and services across key elements of cyber risk.

Lead the development and implementation of an integrated Cyber Security Risk Management Services Methodology for a consistent approach across the business

Promote a positive cyber security risk culture with clients and ensure underwriters understand client risk profiles

Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise for identifying, assessing, treating and reporting Cyber Security Risks across all sectors

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Your key mission is to help build the Cyber Risk Consulting proposition, supporting our brand, team and capabilities

Advise underwriters on industry-specific risks and support clients in implementing their cyber risk reduction strategy

Build a set of cyber services available to clients to help them understand, manage and mitigate their risk

Design and implement a customized risk management framework for each client, ensuring it is practical, effective, and adaptable

Define the framework, including processes, guidelines and standards for risk management

Develop a risk analysis methodology to identify, assess, prioritize risks and develop mitigation strategies

Adapt the risk analysis methodology to client type and size, considering industry, size and risk appetite

Demonstrate flexibility and agility to changing circumstances and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Meet with underwriters, brokers and clients to discuss risk consulting solutions and improve client risks; engage with clients from other lines of business on cyber risks

Regularly visit or interact with clients to evaluate location and industry-specific risks and report findings to underwriting and the client

Work in compliance with technical rules and guidelines

Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues interested in learning about cyber risk mitigation

Collaborate with the local claims team to help them understand losses; apply in-depth industry knowledge for support

Work closely with AXA’s Cyber Centre of Excellence, providing insights into industry trends and emerging issues

You will report to the Head of Cyber Risk Consulting (Paris).

We’re looking for someone with these abilities and skills:

Cyber Security Risk Management experience across multiple organisations or lines of business

High level knowledge of cyber insurance

Experience of technical leadership across multiple stakeholder groups

Ability to consult and implement strategy in a matrix management network

Complex understanding of regulations, policy and procedures and risk frameworks within a cyber-security environment

Experience working with partners from different technology and business teams

In-depth knowledge of technical security systems, architecture, security technology and related testing methodologies

Ability to prioritize security events and identify patterns and trends in data

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

CRISC, CISSP, CISM, IRM or equivalent

Experience of risk management in Cyber Security

Understanding of risk management in the context of NIST, Cyber Essentials+, DEFSTAN, DFARS, ISO

Proven experience in the IT sector and experience in systems and processes addressing key risks, or equivalent risk consulting

Autonomous work style, curiosity, and self-motivation

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate within a team

Proven experience engaging and managing stakeholders across boundaries

Ability to articulate IS risks in business language and advise on risk actions (Required)

Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 20%)

Excellent attention to detail and ability to create clear, concise, engaging presentations

Capability to drive an independent workstream within broader team projects

Strong knowledge of Information Security and IT in risk management

Understanding of current and emerging threats and countermeasures

Fluency in English; other languages are a plus
