Goldfields Community Legal Centre Inc. (GCLC) is seeking a

Senior Solicitor with substantial post-admission experience and an unrestricted practising certificate

to join its established legal team in Kalgoorlie. This role is not suitable for graduate or early-career solicitors.

You will work closely with the Principal Solicitor and CEO, manage complex matters, support junior staff, and contribute to the quality, safety and effectiveness of legal service delivery across the Goldfields–Esperance region.

You will be based in the Kalgoorlie office, with easy access to the town centre and local amenities and occasional regional travel across the Goldfields region.

Successful candidates must be willing to relocate to Kalgoorlie as this position requires office-based work in the regional location.

What You'll Be Doing Reporting to the Principal Solicitor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services and supporting the broader legal team.

Managing complex legal advice, casework and representation

Conducting court appearances, including family law and restraining order matters

Providing professional guidance and informal supervision to junior staff

Supporting client intake, triage and service prioritisation

Contributing to systemic advocacy, law reform and community legal education

Building and maintaining strong relationships with community organisations, government and stakeholders

What You'll Bring You will be an experienced solicitor with sound professional judgement and a strong client focus. You will ideally have:

Candidates must have existing Australian work authorisation as visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Current unrestricted practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one immediately)

Significant post-admission experience as a practising solicitor

Minimum of 5-7 years post-admission experience as a practising solicitor

Demonstrated ability to manage matters with autonomy

Experience appearing before courts and tribunals

Commitment to client-centred and trauma-informed practice

Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

Ability to work sensitively with vulnerable clients, including First Nations people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (highly regarded)

Current WA driver's licence and National Police Clearance

Willingness to obtain a Working With Children Check

Experience in family law, restraining orders and family and domestic violence matters will be highly regarded.
