THE ROLE
You are autonomous, compassionate, and personable as you attend to commercial and residential damaged properties, virtually and physically inspecting, liaising with trades and assessing.
You have Senior capabilities and experience with Tender management, Cost Estimation & Budgeting, Subcontractor & Supplier, Managing relationships, critical Risk Analysis.
You are competent ensuring a smooth repair experience from beginning to end. You can prepare a scope of works and any required contract documentation to provide costs to repair damaged property, including straightforward tender submissions.
Duties, in summary, will include
Operations
Coordinate and schedule trades to undertake initial make‑safe works to prevent further loss or damage.
Conduct thorough assessments of property damage, either onsite or remotely, in accordance with relevant building codes, industry standards, and insurer requirements.
Prepare detailed and professional causation reports and Scope of Works for both minor and major building losses.
Identify high‑risk work as part of assessments and support HSEQ planning and assurance activities.
Ensure all estimations comply with relevant legislation, codes, and HSEQ standards.
Follow established business procedures and actively support continuous improvement initiatives.
Financial
Ensure all cost estimates are accurate, competitive, and compliant with contract requirements, insurer expectations, and relevant pricing structures.
Processes
Make recommendations to Management encouraging growth of the business whilst enhancing systems, and training programmes that support the development of the team.
THE ESSENTIALS
Minimum 4 years’ experience in building estimating, insurance assessment or related construction or a trade‑based role
Estimating, insurance assessment, or a related construction or trade‑based role.
Trade qualification or tertiary education in building, construction management, or a related field or
White Card
Current driver’s licence
Solid understanding of residential and/or commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes
Demonstrated experience preparing scopes of work and damage causation reports
High level of written communication skills for professional reporting
Lateral thinking and problem‑solving skills.
CRM Systems, operational and reporting skills with a willingness to work in an ever‑changing environment
