UGL’s New Energy national business unit is experiencing rapid growth, and we need motivated and capable people to join our team. Our in-house engineering and design capability, together with our strong project delivery and operations and maintenance expertise, positions us well in the market. Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.
As we continue to deliver and evolve, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Civil) to join our team.
About the role
As our Senior Project Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across all civil and structural construction elements within major renewable energy projects. You will play a key role in ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved while supporting the delivery of large-scale, environmentally significant infrastructure.
Your duties and responsibilities
Lead and guide civil and structural construction activities across the project lifecycle
Manage engineering deliverables, ITPs, work packs, hold/witness points, and QA documentation
Collaborate closely with design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Oversee material take-offs, procurement planning, scheduling inputs, and cost reporting
Support commissioning activities and ensure seamless completion and handover
Monitor scope, cost impacts, schedule risks, and opportunities for project optimisation
Maintain accurate project records and contribute to strong document control practices
Mentor and support junior and project engineers
Your skills and experience
Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
5+ years’ civil engineering and construction experience, ideally within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
Strong subcontractor management
Knowledge of AS9001 Quality Systems
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
A valid driver’s license
