$200,000 – $250,000 p.a. (subject to experience)
Shed House Australia designs and supplies architectural kit homes across the country. Using our proprietary framing system, FutureFrame™ we are building a national Kit Assembly platform & a national network of Registered Builders for our clients that range from Owner Builders to clients seeking a full build. We operate & sell our kits across Australia with primary demand in Victoria and the east coast.
This is not a typical Head of Construction role as we do not build our Kits & there is no reliance on Home Builders Warranty Insurance that applicants may have. We are focused on innovation & providing delivery solutions for our Kits. The Head of Construction role is focussed on building this platform to support our clients and to empower registered domestic builders who are feeling the stress of decreased margins and cashflow challenges.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and growing business to lead the establishment of these construction networks through detailed vetting and ongoing management under license in addition to adding value from a construction perspective to our documentation to optimise the quality & buildability of our product. The position requires strong communication / negotiation skills, a focus on process / systems, attention to detail, and the ability to both relate to challenges facing builders & sell the benefits our working with SHA.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a thorough understanding of our FutureFrame™ system including its benefits over traditional framing methods & our supply chain & procurement process.
Develop standardised processes / systems for vetting & pre-qualification of assembly contractors & registered home builders for our platform including checklists, and key documentation required.
Establish a national network of vetted Kit Assembly contractors & Registered builders for our national delivery platform.
Design Development input from a construction perspective to continue to optimise existing product details & to develop new product.
Identification of resourcing requirements to support the Head of Construction to provide support services to manage the Kit Assembly & Registered Builders platform.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
A registered builder (domestic or commercial) with a minimum of 5 year’s experience.
An innovative mindset that sees the need to embrace new methods of construction relative to conventional domestic framing.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to sell the benefits of our FutureFrame™ system which reduces time & costs to assembly teams and registered builders.
Strong systems / process management focus & capabilities to implement, coordinate & track performance of the Kit Assembly contractors and Registered Builders on our platform.
Proficiency in relevant software required to complete the role.
Salary to be commensurate with experience & value add capability for the business
