The Strategy team
Slalom's Strategy team helps our clients re-imagine what's possible, when making the most of technology and modern ways of working. As a Strategy Consultant, you will lead from the front, working in both team-based projects, interacting with clients, assisting with pre-sales pursuits, and providing mentoring to more junior consultants.
The Role: Strategist & Value Architect โ Principal
Weโre looking for someone who has truly lived and breathed business casing: someone who has led it, delivered value, and understands it not just from a business strategy perspective, but also from a technology strategy lens. The right person will be capable of taking a business case and using it as a foundation to drive action. Ideally, theyโve done this before across projects, initiatives, ROI analysis, and more. The role also involves value architecture: connecting strategy all the way through to initiatives. Itโs about tying everything together: vision, mission, values, and execution.
What You Will Do
In this role, you'll work with your colleagues in Strategy and in other capability teams to help shape work, sell it, and execute it, all in a client-facing capacity. Our team is invigorated by new challenges and arenโt shy to seek out new learning opportunities or challenge the status quo. We need someone whoโs a subject matter expert and can also guide and upskill others in the team in how to develop strong business cases.
Meeting with client stakeholders to understand and define financial models that support a compelling business case
Conducting strategic and financial analyses, and incorporating into a compelling and substantiated narrative that influences executive decisions to take action
Identifying, communicating and modelling benefits and business value, for an executive audience
Lead or contribute to platform and product evaluations, RFPs, M&A recommendations, business case design, strategy formulation, roadmap development, and technology landscape assessments
Lead or contribute through all phases of the customer development lifecycle, including stakeholder relationship management, pre-sales, project alignment, and engagement delivery
Lead or contribute to the design and implementation of technology operating models, supporting e.g. Digital Transformation, Cloud Adoption, DevOps enablement, and AI enablement
What You'll Bring To Slalom
Experience working across multiple businesses, business and technology domains, and industries
Broad understanding of key and emerging technologies, including how they interact and the value they offer
Clear understanding of the technology landscape and architecture as it pertains to business systems, from customer-facing applications to legacy systems
Ability to develop and implement effective technology strategies aligned with business objectives
Experience with various architectures, technical solutions, delivery and operating models and their organizational impacts, including alignment of business goals, guiding principles, governance, vendor relationships, and funding approaches
Ability to establish credibility with customers and partners from initial meetings onward
Passion for driving effective collaboration with customer stakeholders, partners, and cross-functional Slalom teams
