This is a senior leadership opportunity that blends executive medical oversight with operational performance leadership across a progressive and rapidly evolving Queensland health service.

About the Role The Director of Medical Services will be the most senior medical leader at the Robina Hospital site, providing day-to-day strategic oversight and operational leadership for the medical workforce. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care aligned with the organisation’s strategic priorities.

This role will collaborate closely with the Chief Medical Officer and report operationally to the respective General Manager. You will lead site-based initiatives in medical workforce planning, quality and safety, clinical governance, research partnerships, and emergency response readiness. The role also serves as a key escalation point for cross-divisional access and flow issues and will champion innovation, safety, and cultural capability across medical services.

Candidate Profile

A medical degree registrable with AHPRA and specialist registration

Executive-level experience in clinical leadership within large, complex health systems

Expertise in operational performance, workforce planning, patient safety, and system reform

A collaborative, inclusive leadership style grounded in values and integrity

Fellowship of RACMA (or substantial progress toward) is desirable

You will be a trusted leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, can balance clinical insight with operational agility, and has a passion for advancing equitable, world-class care.
