Corporate Attorney – Private Equity M&A – New York

This role gives you immediate responsibility in the US private equity market.

You will sit across the table from sponsors and counterparties. You will run deals from mandate through closing. You will make judgment calls earlier and build client credibility faster. This is not a drafting-heavy support role. It is a seat where you influence outcomes and accelerate your development.

Most mid-level roles limit your exposure. This one expands it.

WHAT YOU GAIN You gain direct sponsor access, not filtered through layers of partners. You gain ownership of transactions, not just document turns. You gain repeat exposure to sponsor-led deal structures and market terms that travel across firms and geographies.

WHAT YOU NEED You need 3+ years of private equity M&A experience with a clear sponsor-side focus. General corporate experience will not position you well for this seat.

You should already be drafting and negotiating core transaction documents and running workstreams with limited supervision.

If you trained at a top-tier Australian firm or a leading global firm, you are the target profile. A US JD is not required.

E-3 VISA SUPPORT As an Australian citizen, you qualify for the E-3 visa. There is no lottery and no backlog. Processing is handled through a US consulate.
