About Us
Access Health and Community (AccessHC) is a leading not-for-profit healthcare provider with over 150 years of experience delivering inclusive, person-centered care across Melbourne’s inner and outer east and northeast.
With 550+ staff and 200 volunteers across 17 locations, we offer a wide range of integrated services to support diverse communities. Following our May 2025 merger with Inspiro, we’ve expanded our reach into the Yarra Ranges and strengthened our commitment to accessible, high-quality community health services.
We are proud of our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), strong Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, and our respect for the rights, culture and contributions of First Nations peoples. At AccessHC, we are united by compassion, collaboration and community-led care to help people live healthier lives.
The opportunity
Looking for more purpose, balance, and professional satisfaction than private practice can offer?
If you’re an experienced Dentist seeking meaningful work without the pressures of private practice targets, this is your opportunity to join a highly respected not-for-profit community health organisation where your skills create real impact—and your wellbeing truly matters.
We are seeking an Experienced Dentist (Level 2–3) to join our Lilydale Dental Team in a part-time, fixed-term role covering parental leave from 24th February 2026 until 15.1.27. This role is ideal for clinicians who value clinical autonomy, teamwork, work-life balance, and community impact.
About the role
The AccessHC dental program provides community based dental care to all children under 12 yrs of age, adult concession card holders and their dependants (under 18 yrs).
As a Dentist Level 2–3, you will provide high-quality, efficient, and effective dental care within publicly funded dental services, while also supporting private services where appropriate.
You will work autonomously while being supported by a collaborative, values-driven dental team in a well-established community clinic.
Why Choose Community Health Over Private Practice?
Focus on Care: Unlike private practice, community dentistry allows you to focus on quality, evidence-based care whilst caring for those most vulnerable in our community
True Work-Life Balance: Enjoy set working days (Tuesday & Friday), predictable hours, and no late nights—ideal for family life, study, or portfolio careers.
Highly Supported Team Environment: Work within a multidisciplinary dental team including dentists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetists, and experienced dental assistants—so you’re never working in isolation.
Salary Packaging = More Take-Home Pay: As a Not-for-Profit organisation, you can access generous salary packaging (up to $15,990 + $2,650 meals/entertainment), increasing your net income beyond many private roles.
Professional Growth Without Burnout: Access ongoing professional development, mentoring, and leadership support—without the commercial pressures of private practice.
Purpose-Driven Dentistry: Deliver care to children, concession card holders, and diverse community members—making a genuine difference where it’s needed most.
