Head of Procurement

Principal Consultant - Procurement, Commercial Contracts & Supply Chain at MARS Recruitment A rare senior leadership opportunity has become available for an experienced Head of Procurement to join a highly respected WA organisation. This is an urgent requirement offered initially as a 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension or even permanency for the right individual.

As the Head of Procurement, you will lead the organisation's end-to-end procurement function, champion best‑practice governance, and drive strategic commercial outcomes during a period of change. You will provide high‑level leadership across sourcing, category strategy, supplier performance, and commercial risk, while uplifting capability across the procurement team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership to the procurement function, ensuring robust governance, strong commercial outcomes, and alignment with organisational priorities.

Lead, mentor and develop a procurement team of 4.

Deliver value‑driven procurement outcomes through commercial rigour, market analysis and supplier optimisation.

Build strong relationships with executive and operational stakeholders to support organisational objectives and uplift procurement maturity.

Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes, frameworks, and systems.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies and organisational risk requirements.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a senior procurement leadership role.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to partner confidently at an executive level.

High commercial acumen with the ability to analyse markets, optimise value, and manage risk.

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Law, or related discipline will be highly regarded.
