The Role
An opportunity exists for a Senior Engineer – Mechanical to act as a technical leader within the Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering group. In this role, you will provide high-level mechanical engineering expertise across investigation, design, review, systems development, audit, and advisory services, supporting critical water and wastewater infrastructure across the full asset lifecycle. You will work closely with Principal Engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant, and fit-for-purpose engineering outcomes.
Responsibilities
Act as a senior technical practitioner for Mechanical engineering matters
Lead and support Safety in Design (SiD) and WHS outcomes
Deliver technical investigations, design reviews, audits, and advisory services
Support and evolve mechanical engineering standards and guidelines
Liaise with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Contribute to operational, maintenance, and condition-monitoring strategies
Identify innovation opportunities and emerging technologies
You
Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering
CPEng accredited (essential)
Strong experience in water, wastewater, or complex infrastructure environments
Proven capability delivering complex mechanical investigations and designs
Safety-focused, collaborative, and technically rigorous
