Job Description

Expression of Interest INCH’s Treasurer is an Executive role on INCH’s Board and the following duties, responsibilities, skills and experience are required to fill this role.

Skills and Experience

Accounting Knowledge & Skills: In both commercial and not profit sector. Knowledge and experience in management of accounts, account receivable and payable, MYOB systems, Governance and Industry regulatory requirements.

Role of INCH’s Treasurer The Treasurer is the Officer assigned the responsibility of overseeing the management and reporting of INCH’s finances in accordance with Governance and Industry regulatory requirements and Local and State Government funding grants.

INCH’s Treasurer is a leadership role and is part of INCH’s finance team which includes INCH’s President, the CEO, INCH’s Accountant and members of the Finance and Audit Sub-Committee. Duties include:

Monitor and oversee the financial affairs of the organisation

Authorization of financial weekly online payments to contractors, suppliers, lessors, payroll and statutory payments relating to a Charity and Not-for profit organisation

Ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to at all times i.e. Taxation Laws, Payroll, etc.

Present monthly and quarterly financial reports to the Board.

Ensure that efficient and robust systems of accountability are in place.

Regularly monitor individual program budgets.

Ensure books of accounts are up to date and in order.

Ensure that an Audit is arranged each year and that all relevant information and books are prepared for Audit.

Ensure that tasks are completed on time, information provided is accurate and that all financial accountability documentation required by funding bodies are completed and returned with the specified time-frame. This can occur through the formation of a Finance Working Group comprising of the Treasurer, CEO, Finance Officer and other interested Board member(s) which will meet as delegated by the Board.

Serving as Chair of the Financial and Audit Sub-Committee

Advising the Board on financial strategy – relating to INCH’s Business Plan and Strategic Goal initiatives.

Orientation and training Orientation and training relating to the Treasurer’s role and INCH Housing Inc. will be provided up acceptance to INCH’s Board.
