As the Legal Director, you will take primary responsibility for providing preliminary legal advice to members as well as having full carriage of plaintiff personal injuries files across: Statutory workers compensation claims Common law WorkCover claims Psychiatric Injuries Public Liability Should you have an interest, you may also be exposed to Employment Law as well as WH&S matters while supervising and mentoring several junior lawyers and paralegals. To be successful in securing this role, you will be a lawyer of 5+ years post-admission in Australia, though there will be no upper limit to this. You may well have supplementary experience in other areas of law (such as employment and commercial law) however your primary experience must be in plaintiff personal injuries as a mandatory prerequisite. As a benchmark of responsibility, this organisation would like you to have completed the Practice Management Course, or at the very least you will be prepared to undertake this 30-35 hour course at the company's expense. Remuneration is very attractive and negotiable with $225,000 - $250,000 to be used as a guide. In addition, you will receive a market-leading 30% profit share for your efforts. A car park is also offered at no expense to you. You will struggle to find a more rewarding compensation package for a similar role. In the first month or two, working from the office is preferred for the building of internal relationships and mentoring purposes, yet beyond this the workplace flexibility is negotiable depending on the individual's needs i.e. 4+1 or 3+2 basis.
