Position Information Coleambally Central School provides a dynamic, individualised Kindergarten to Year 12 curriculum where every student is known, valued, and supported. Embedded in strong community partnerships, we work collaboratively with families, local organisations, and our broader community to support student success. Coleambally Central School (CCS) is a dynamic kindergarten to Year 12 rural school with approximately 151 students located on Wiradjuri land in the southern Riverina. The school population includes 14% of students who are Aboriginal students.

The school draws students from the townships of Coleambally and Darlington Point, as well as the surrounding farming region. Located next to the Coleambally business district, the campus features modern buildings and extensive, well-maintained grounds. With strong community support, the school is committed to being an integral part of the community, actively contributing to its values and ethos.

Coleambally Central School aims to provide inclusive educational programs, characterised by explicit teaching and learning in a nurturing environment.

Through a process of continuous improvement, we identify strengths and areas of development through robust consultation with staff, students and community to inform explicit teaching practice, identify and support high potential and gifted education, literacy and numeracy improvement, strengthen wellbeing and provide post school transition pathways including HSC attainment.

Specific Selection Criteria Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,

Strong educational leadership with the proven capacity to inspire a culture of continual school improvement in a K‑12 school, utilising evidence‑based practice, and professional learning to challenge and extend all staff and positively impact student growth and attainment.

Proven success to implement data informed practices from internal and external sources, to lead and develop explicit teaching and learning programs to improve student outcomes.

Demonstrated capacity to build authentic connections and collaboration with all stakeholders including the local community, school parents & carers, AECG and external agencies to support student success in all aspects of school life.

Understanding of the complexities of student wellbeing with a proven capacity to support staff and lead improvements for all students in partnership with parents and community.

General Selection Criteria

High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.

Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.

High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.

Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.

Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.

Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2020 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P2 for 2025 and Principal Level P2 for 2026.
