General Manager - Longerenong College

Longerenong College was established as an Agricultural College in 19xx. Throughout its history the College's name has been synonymous with delivering industry‑relevant, high‑quality education and training in agriculture.

The College is seeking a professional and experienced General Manager to lead the successful operation, governance and growth of the College. Reporting to the CEO, this is a rare opportunity to join a highly regarded agricultural college that has experienced significant change in recent years.

To be successful, you will be responsible for driving the ongoing success of the College through partnerships, marketing, increasing student numbers and promoting Longerenong College as a progressive educational institution whilst being at the forefront of new farming technologies and opportunities.

The General Manager is responsible for the operations of the College that include the DATA Farm, broadacre farm and livestock business, accommodation and conference facilities. The role works closely with the General Manager Training to develop a curriculum that integrates practical agricultural training with accredited courses and delivery, creating a point of difference from other training providers.

Role The General Manager will be an experienced leader who can lead to create opportunities for the growth of the College and its resources through continuous improvement and the implementation of new technologies, opportunities and partnerships.

High level understanding of agriculture and education and training.

Passionate about creating a high performing team and culture.

Strong business acumen and commercially astute.

Collaborative and ability to work alongside the Leadership Team and broader teams.

Provide leadership and direction in the operations of the College to ensure its growth and point of difference in offerings.

Skills and Experience

Developing and maintaining organisational culture.

Leading and managing a high performing team.

Leading innovation and driving new technologies in agriculture.

Marketing and business development.

Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Preparing budgets and meeting financial reporting requirements.

Influencing the community, industry, government and peers through a range of mediums including networking, memberships of relevant organisations, electronic and print media correspondence and reports.

Requirements

Relevant qualifications in education, business or agriculture.

Minimum of 5 years management experience.
