Executive Director – Family and Domestic Violence Workforce Entity
Up to $165,000 + super + salary packaging up to $15,900
Full-time, 3-year fixed term
Talenting is partnering with the Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing (CWSW), Western Australia’s peak body advancing women’s safety and family and domestic violence reform, to recruit the inaugural Executive Director for its newly funded Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) Workforce Entity.
What is this opportunity?
CWSW and their consortium partners have been funded by the WA Government to establish a new FDV Workforce Entity - a major statewide initiative designed to strengthen workforce capability and support the implementation of system-wide reforms across Western Australia.
The Entity will work in partnership with government, specialist FDV services, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, training providers and research institutions to drive long-term workforce development, coordination and sector stewardship.
This is a rare opportunity to lead the establishment of a high-impact new service from the ground up, shaping its strategy, culture, partnerships and early delivery.
Why does this role matter?
The Executive Director is the key foundational appointment and will be accountable for ensuring the Entity delivers on its mandate to support a safer, stronger and more sustainable FDV workforce across the state.
What will you be responsible for?
Lead the stand-up and ongoing delivery of the Entity, shaping its strategy, operations and organisational culture
Provide strong governance and executive leadership, reporting to the Operational Steering Group and advising the Governance Board
Build and sustain high-trust partnerships across government, specialist FDV services, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, peaks, training providers and research institutions
Oversee delivery across the Entity’s core functions, including capability building, workforce planning and system stewardship
Ensure high-quality implementation, continuous improvement and evidence-based practice across all initiatives
Maintain accountability for budget management, contracts, risk oversight and compliance obligations
Champion culturally responsive, trauma-informed leadership and support Aboriginal self-determination across the Entity’s work
Advocate for long-term workforce sustainability and influence policy and investment through data, sector insight and reform leadership
What we are looking for?
CWSW is seeking an experienced, values-driven leader with the credibility and capability to establish and lead a new statewide Workforce Entity.
You will bring:
Proven executive leadership experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, ideally within FDV, community services, social policy or human services
Strong governance, risk and accountability capability, including experience reporting to boards or senior oversight bodies, managing compliance obligations and driving continuous improvement
Deep understanding of the family and domestic violence system, workforce reform, capability development and risk assessment frameworks (knowledge of the Capability Framework, CRARM and AFVRAT is highly desirable)
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain senior partnerships across government, peak bodies, training providers, ACCOs and the broader community sector
Strong operational and project leadership skills, including leading multidisciplinary teams, managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes
Commitment to Aboriginal self-determination, culturally secure practice and working effectively with Aboriginal leaders and organisations
Sound financial and organisational management experience, including budgets, sustainability and accountability
High integrity, emotional intelligence and a trauma-informed leadership approach, with excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
