The Senior Technical Consultant delivers high ‑ quality technical solutions within a complex and evolving ecosystem. This role combines technical leadership, solution design expertise, and a strong customer focus. The position requires the ability to evaluate multiple solution approaches, innovate when appropriate, and guide technical components through to successful completion while ensuring alignment with best practices, scalability, and long ‑ term maintainability.

Responsibilities Solution Design & Technical Analysis

Facilitate customer workshops to capture technical requirements and design suitable solutions.

Prepare and review technical estimates for assigned solution components.

Ensure adherence to established design principles, including performance, scalability, security, modularity, and interoperability.

Collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure alignment with architectural direction and standards.

Develop and maintain a strong understanding of insurance industry processes and customer operational environments.

Software Development & Build Activities

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through design, development, testing, and delivery.

Design and develop software components, including coding, unit testing, build scripting, deployment automation, and configuration.

Work with data models, including mapping integration requirements, extending entities, and developing data migration scripts.

Delivery & Implementation

Lead delivery of assigned solution components within a project, ensuring quality and timely execution.

Work closely with the FINEOS project team and client stakeholders to ensure effective solution implementation.

Diagnose and resolve technical issues in FINEOS solutions, both remotely and on‑site.

Ensure work is completed independently and to agreed deadlines.

Collaboration & Ways of Working

Collaborate within an Agile team, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.

Create clear, high‑quality technical documentation to support solution design and development.

Demonstrate professional conduct and deliver excellent customer service at all times.

Identify opportunities to improve tools, processes, and methodologies within the technical consulting practice.

Provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.

Proven experience delivering technical solutions in client‑facing environments, ideally within digital transformation or enterprise platform programmes.

Experience implementing complex platform solutions; exposure to Life or Social Insurance domains is advantageous.

Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, architectural frameworks and best‑practice solution design.

Extensive hands‑on Java development experience, including RESTful and SOAP service integrations.

Experience developing solutions in multi‑tier integration environments with strong knowledge of integration protocols and standards.

Cloud delivery experience, ideally with AWS; AWS certification is beneficial.

Proven background working within Agile delivery teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including workshop facilitation and technical presentations.

Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Ability to analyze complex problems and recommend effective solutions.

Strong analytical, architectural and problem‑solving capability.

Technical Skills

Deep technical expertise across Java frameworks and supporting technologies (e.g. JSP, JDBC, JNDI, ADF/JSF, Struts, Spring MVC), relational databases (Oracle/SQL Server) and DevOps tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, Gradle, Kubernetes, Amazon SDK/CDK, CloudWatch).

Proficient in Java and related frameworks.

Experience integrating RESTful and SOAP‑based services.

Experience with DevOps tooling including Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, and Gradle.

Skilled in relational database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server.

Familiarity with AWS development toolkits and cloud services.

Language Skills

Fluent spoken and written English.
