General Manager
to join a growing civil construction business in a newly created, high-impact role. The Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance and strategic leadership of the business. You will work closely with the Director to ensure strong operational efficiency, solid financial performance, and a healthy pipeline of work. This role carries full responsibility across people, projects, commercial outcomes and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the operational and commercial performance of the business
Drive business growth through strong pipeline management, workflow planning and client engagement
Oversee P&L, budgeting, cashflow, forecasting and strategic planning
Implement systems, processes and efficiencies to support scalability
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team across operations and delivery
Support the Director in key business decisions and strategic initiatives
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, suppliers and stakeholders
Monitor project performance, delivery standards and compliance
Guide the business through expansion as responsibilities progress into group-level oversight
About You
Proven experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager or Senior Leader within
civil construction
Strong understanding of workflow management, tendering, project delivery and commercial controls
Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, budgets, cashflow and strategic planning
Exceptional leadership skills with a people-first approach
Strong communicator who can influence, negotiate and build long-term relationships
Process-driven, solutions-focused and committed to continuous improvement
Ambitious, future-focused and eager to step into an expanding group leadership structure
