Abouttheprogram Nomatteryourinterest,whetherit’sinfinance,foreignaffairs,internationaldevelopment,ICT,nationalsecurity,HRmanagement,ortradeandinvestment,ourgraduateprogramwillprepareyouforarichandrewardingcareerinDFAT.

Duringthe18-monthprogram,youwillcompletefourplacementswithinthedepartmentandwilldevelopfirst-handexperienceacrossarangeofDFAT’sworkareas.Youwillbeprovidedwith:

astartingsalaryof$84,115,increasingto$92,753atcompletionoftheprogram

15.4%superannuation

CorporaterolesofferawidevarietyofrolesthatwillbuildyourcapabilitiesandpiqueyourinterestsinDFAT’sConsular,Passports,CorporateandEnablingServices.Throughthedeliveryofexceptionalclientservicesandexpertadvicerelatingtorelevantcorporatelegislation,policiesandprocedures,acorporaterolewillallowyoutobecomeatrustedadviserworkingwithdepartmentalemployeesatalllevels,includingseniorleadership.Yourexpertadviceandsupportwillenableotherareasacrossthebusinesstomeetthestrategicobjectivesanddeliverongovernmentoutcomes.Corporategraduatesmaybeplacedinsomeofthefollowingroles:

ExperiencecorporategraduateswillgainduringtheprogramwillplacetheminacompetitivepositiontoapplyforoverseastransfersinrolessuchasSecondSecretaryandViceConsul(Corporate),ormixeddutiespositions,attheendoftheprogram.
