Solution Architect

Are you an experienced Solution Architect looking to shape enterprise-wide ICT direction within a nationally significant organisation? We are seeking a high‑calibre professional to join a strategic Architecture function within a federal government ICT environment.

This is a key role working across security, infrastructure, platforms, data and applications domains, providing trusted technical advice to senior ICT leadership and governance forums.

The Role As a Solution Architect, you will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define and guide the delivery of complex ICT solutions. You will contribute to enterprise direction through architecture artefacts, advisories, roadmaps and solution designs that align technology investment with strategic objectives.

Reporting within the Office of the Chief Information and Technology function, you will play a central role in shaping technical decisions across projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of solution architectures and high‑level designs across business and ICT domains

Present architecture proposals and options papers to governance bodies for endorsement

Define and maintain reference and target architectures

Support projects through architectural approvals and technical decision‑making

Contribute to enterprise architecture repositories and governance artefacts

Validate solutions against approved architecture and design documentation

Ensure security, risk and compliance considerations are embedded in all solutions

Provide architectural expertise to ICT procurement activities

Contribute to continuous improvement of ICT governance and internal processes

About You To be successful, you will demonstrate:

Proven experience designing and governing complex ICT solutions across cloud and traditional environments

Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate business needs into robust technical designs

Experience working across multiple ICT domains including security, infrastructure and applications

Ability to produce architecture artefacts, options papers and technical roadmaps

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences

Experience operating within structured governance environments and architecture review processes

Australian Citizenship is required.
